GVC Holdings brand PartyPoker has been granted a licence to operate an online poker room in the Czech Republic, second to The Stars Group Inc (formerly Amaya)’s PokerStars which was granted a licence from the Czech State Supervision of Gambling and Lotteries Department back on January 28th, 2018.

what is interesting about the licence application is that PokerStars used a subsidiary TSG Interactive plc in iGaming friendly Malta for their license application, while PartyGaming acquired their licence through a tactical partnership with King’s Casino in Rozvadov, with whom PartyPoker has been partnering with for Millions and Grand-Prix poker events.

Also of note is the fact that PartyGaming had previously applied for a licence in 2017, but it withdrew its own application, stating that gaming laws in the Czech Republic were not in compliance with European Union principle at the time.

The Czech domain PartyPoker.cz is now listed in the list of licensed gambling operators on the Finance Ministry website.
